Six tips when designing a leaflet

Good leaflet design is all about persuasion. If you want people to visit, buy or try, these are the six design principles that can make all the difference to the finished leaflet.

  • Keep the layout simple
  • Choose the right font
  • Keep colours consistent
  • Use graphics with care
  • Drive interest with good copy
  • Add a strong CTA

Keep the layout simple

Before you visit a folded leaflet printers Swindon, first plan your layout. Divide your document into 4 sections: a headline to grab attention, key selling points, main benefits, and your CTA with contact details.

Choose the right font

Any printer, such as wheatleyprinters.co.uk/printing-services/marketing-materials/folded-leaflet-printers/swindon/ will tell you that your choice of font is key. Stick to one style across your leaflet and choose fonts that are modern, uncluttered and easy to read for a professional finish.

Keep colours consistent

Marketing materials should be consistent, so use your corporate colours for your folded leaflets. Pick high contrast to make important information stand out, and don’t forget accessibility for the visually impaired.

Use graphics with care

Graphics should always be used sparingly. If a single photo will make an impact, use a professional photographer to capture a high-resolution image. If you’re including a logo, it should appear on the top left hand or bottom right hand corner of the front page.

Drive interest with good copy

Less is more, so use slogans and bullet points to encourage people to visit, buy, or try. Avoid anything unnecessary, always proofread, and then ask at least two other people to catch any mistakes you missed.

Add a strong CTA

Finally, you want your audience to take action. Always include a strong CTA and your contact details.
