Top tips for business growth in 2023

Roger Walker February 13, 2023 Business and Management Comments are off

Business owners looking to grow their enterprises in 2023 will need to work hard and persevere, even on those days where nothing seems to go right. Following these top pieces of business advice will help set you on the path to success:

Pick the correct niche

This is where entrepreneurs often make their first mistake. Choose a concept that is too wide and you’ll struggle to focus on who your target market is. Pick a niche that is way too narrow and you’ll struggle to make enough profit. Avoid anything that is too seasonal as well or you might be very busy for a couple of months and then dead for the rest of the year. Ideally, choose a niche with all year round popularity and that is easy to remarket.

Problem solving

Identify a problem that customers experience and solve it for them. It does not need to be complex but it should have enough urgency. When you pinpoint what this problem is, you can use it effectively in your marketing, identifying exactly what you can help your customer with and how.

Profit not revenue

Focus on profit and not on revenue. How much did you really make in a given period? If the profit is low, is your current model sustainable? The greater the profit, the more there is available to reinvest into the business. When you need a Cheltenham Business Advisory, go to www.randall-payne.co.uk/services/business-advisory/

Run a business that matches your personality

The most passionate and successful people are those who run a business that they love. The service or product matches their personality, their interests and gets them fired up every day. This also means doing something that you have the right experience and skills for. Ideally, it should be something that only you can do and that there is no one else who could run that business better than you.

Know your competition

Business is a cut-throat environment and while you shouldn’t obsess over what your competitors are doing, it’s smart to be clued up on what products or services they are offering, what their price structure is like and how their customer service is judged. Find out what their weakness is and make that your strength.

Don’t strive for perfection

When you’re trying to get everything just right, you can become stuck. You start to have doubts, suffer a lack of confidence and end up stagnating. Just go for it! It might not be perfect but you’ll be taking action.
