Techniques for Maintaining a Tidy Worksite During Plastering

Plastering can be a very messy job. It creates a lot of dust and debris. After hours of plastering, when you think you are finished for the day, you then realise you still have at least another hour of cleaning up to do before you can finish. This is the worst nightmare of any plasterer. Here are some techniques you can implement to reduce the amount of cleanup that is required after a long day’s work.

Covering the floor is the best way to reduce the amount of cleanup required after you finish plastering. You can simply lay dust sheets and tarps on the floor where you are working that will collect up any spilt plaster and any other rubbish. Then, when you finish, you can collect up the sheets and the floor below will be left in a good condition. It is also a good idea to use tape to secure the sheets onto the floor, to prevent them from shifting and moving when you walk over them.

Shutting off doors to other parts of the site where you are working is a good way to prevent dust from getting everywhere. This will mean after you finish, there will be less surfaces to wipe down. Keeping windows open in the room you are plastering is another good way to reduce dust, as the window will act as a vacuum.

If you find that even after putting these measures into place, there is still a lot of mess after you finish a plastering job, there are a few things you can do to quickly tidy up. Using a Vacuum cleaner is a quick way to remove all the excess dust around the area you have been working. If there are splats of plaster on either the floor or walls you can use a scraper or a damp cloth to remove this. If you do not have time to clean the mess yourself when on a site, you can contact Industrial Cleaning Services Cheltenham that will be able to clean up all the mess for you. An example of a company like this is intocleaning.co.uk/services/industrial-cleaning-services-gloucestershire/cheltenham

In conclusion, if you implement these techniques when you do your plastering, it should prevent the amount of cleanup that is required. However, if you still find there is a lot of cleanup that is needed, you can find a company that can do the cleanup for you.
