Most Gym Racks are loaded with a lot of weight and would easily tip over and move if left unanchored for heavy squats or for people doing pull-ups. The anchoring of a Gym Rack to the floor depends greatly on the floor type.
Check Your Floor Type First
For concrete floors, expansion bolts or wedge anchors can be used to secure a gym rack. Timber joist floors however require longer coach bolts to be drilled into the joists, not the floor itself, required for different floor types and choosing the correct size and depth of embedment for the job at hand is crucial.
Use the Right Hardware
On concrete floors, we recommend M10 or M12 wedge anchors, while timber joist floors will typically require M10 coach bolts with large washers to spread the load. We recommend always checking the minimum recommended bolt diameter for your specific rack from the manufacturer’s specification sheet.
Mark and Drill Carefully

Mark the position of the rack on the floor using the holes in the base plate of the rack. Use these marks as a template to drill the holes for the anchors. Drill the holes to the depth required by the anchor, remove any dust from the holes and then fit the anchor in the hole before placing the rack on the anchor. com/collections/gym-racks/).
Torque and Test It
After anchoring your rack, remember to check the specified torque for your anchored rack to ensure your anchors are properly secured. Test the gym rack anchors by gently attempting to tilt the anchored gym rack while supporting its uprights with your body weight. Gym Racks of all shapes and sizes are showcased on.
Freestanding Without Anchors
By anchoring a gym rack to the floor, the rack will stay in place for future workouts. You do not have to worry about the gym rack tipping over when using heavy weights for maximum effort lifts.
