As the capital of Ireland and one of Europe’s most vibrant cities, Dublin has no shortage of excellent restaurants catering to all tastes and budgets.

Here are a few of the top places to dine in this endlessly fascinating city.

Osteria Lucio

Situated underneath the railway arches at Dublin’s Grand Canal Dock, Osteria Lucio is the place to head if you want deicious Italian cooking with a twist. Pizza fans will love the tasty pizzas cooked to perfection in the kitchen’s wood fire oven, while the fresh pasta will delight even the fussiest eaters. In addition to Italian classics, you can expect to find excellent Irish beef, an interesting and carefully curated wine selection, and some out-of-this-world cocktails. The busy restaurant is full of chatter in the evenings, making it the perfect spot for couples or groups.

Forno 500

Another excellent Italian restaurant in Dublin, Forno 500 prides itself on its incredible pizzas. The restaurant’s founders actually hired a fourth-generation wood-fired oven manufacturing family from Naples to come over to Dublin and build their oven, and it certainly paid off. The oven reaches temperatures of 500 C – hence the restaurant’s name – and the pizzas are some of the best you’ll find outside of Naples. The restaurant website at https://www.forno500.ie/ has more information about the famous ovens and how they create the perfect pizza.

The Generator

If burgers are more your speed, head the The Generator. Famous for its mouthwatering burgers, the Smithfield establishment offers countless choices, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Thrillist even says it’s one of the coolest places to eat in Dublin because of its extensive menu and the fact that it won’t break the bank. Every burger is cooked to perfection, making The Generator one of the must-visit burger joints in the city.

Gaillot et Gray

This French/Irish restaurant is a relatively new addition to the Dublin dining scene and was founded by Gilles Gaillot and Emma Gray just a couple of years ago. Famous for its fantastic atmosphere after dark, the restaurant is a bakery during the day, serving coffee, snacks and sandwiches. If you visit in the evening, check out one of the incredible pizzas and wash it down with one of Gaillot and Gray’s excellent French wines. The pizzas use Emmental cheese instead of mozzarella for an added twist.
