5 Different Signs Your Child Might Benefit From A Multivitamin

Jessica Hanshaw August 10, 2025 Health and Fitness Comments are off

We are constantly being health detectives as parents. With the constant fight over vegetables one day to random spurts of energy loss, it is hard knowing if your little babe is eating and getting all their daily needs.

  1. The Great Broccoli Rebellion

And you are not alone when it comes to a child treating vegetables as though they might be radioactive and chicken nuggets being considered by your offspring as an essential food group. Though picky eating is quite expected, if your little one hasn’t touched a fruit or veggie in weeks they might be lacking in several vitamins and minerals. A multivitamin can help with that while you keep fighting the good dinner fight.

  1. All Over the Place Energy Levels like a Broken Yo-Yo

One moment is your child dancing on walls then the next minute it’s like they deflate? However, abnormal patterns on a daily basis would indicate nutritional deficits since it is natural for energy to fluctuate. B vitamins and iron are closely involved in keeping your energy level steady, so irregular behaviour could signal a deficiency of these nutrients.

  1. The Never-Ending Sniffle Saga

Perhaps your child is always picking up whatever bug goes around school and then takes weeks to bounce back because their immune system needs a boost. A low immune system: Frequent colds, slow healing from minor cuts and scrapes or just generally feeling ‘run down’ is the type of symptoms people say can show their body that it’s maybe not getting enough vitamin C, vitamin D and zinc. 1. Growing Pains

Little growing pains = Bigger nutritional needs. To ensure growth, your growing child requires more nutrients during a spurt. If your child is growing like a weed but always seems fatigued, has “growing pains,” or seems unreasonably irritable they may not be eating the types and amounts of foods needed to keep pace. Calcium, vitamin D and other important nutrients will be in demand to nourish growing bodies.

  1. The Concentration Conundrum

Are you struggling with day-to-day activities that were once routine? While there could be a variety of reasons this happens, one component can be traced back to cognitive function and concentration being impacted by nutritional deficiencies. The brain requires omega 3 fatty acids, iron and B vitamins for health and focus.

The Bottom Line

Keep in mind, these are not definitive factors that automatically denote your child requires vitamins — they are just signs to consider. Chat with your child’s doctor before you make any changes. This can help decide if a multivitamin is the right choice and point to the best options for your child’s age level and nutritional needs.
