Politics and journalism have always gone hand-in-hand and political stories have always been a topic that great journalists love to get their teeth into. The escapades and antics of a Politician who has said something way out of line with their Parties agenda or actually taken part in an occasion considered controversial, is fair game for a Political reporter who is after a great story. The journalist, author, activist, mental health campaigner and ex-politician, Alastair Campbell has had the courage to write seriously about Politics and politicians for a long time. He spent many years with Tony Blair and in Downing Street, working as the Parties campaign director and spokesperson. He was both highly respected and feared by Conservative opposition members who conceded that they failed to get into power in 1997 because of not being able to find anybody able to stand up to Alistair Campbell.
